Configuration & Customisation

One of the key features of TallyPro is the extent to which it can be configured and even customised for the specific requirements of each company.

 

Configuration can in most cases be undertaken by an authorised user and can define the following:

 

Costing Type - TallyPro supports two types of costing Commercial and Professional

Years & Periods - this is used to analyse billings into separate years and periods.

Client Input Mask - this setting can be used to define the format for Client Codes.

Job Input Mask - this setting can be used to define the format for Job Codes or Job Numbers. An auto number facility is available for generating new job numbers with an optional prefix

Subsidiary Codes / Matters - the extent to which postings to Jobs / Clients can be further analysed to default or specific codes.

Work Types  - these are used to further analyse employees' time spent as specified on their time sheets.

Employees - the minimum hours per day and per week can be specified

Apportionment - allow posting to a parent Customer or Job and allocate to multiple 'children' on submission

Customers by Department - restrict Customers available to Employees in specific Departments

Subsidiary Codes by Department - restrict Subsidiary Codes available to Employees in specific Departments

Work Types by Department - restrict Work Types available to Employees in specific Departments

Time Posting - time can either be entered as decimals (recommended) or as hours and minutes.

Posting Selection - determines the different ways of selecting client / jobs during the posting process

Other Costs - allow quantity of hours to be entered

Customisation would normally be undertaken by Commercial Software Limited and the extent of the customisation allowed depends on whether the system is being hosted by Commercial Software or is being hosted in-house.

 

The following are examples of the types customisation that can be undertaken:

 

Access levels - sections of individual parts of the program can either be made available to, or restricted from, individual users

Descriptions - captions and labels can be changed

Grid Views - individual grid views can be altered in terms of column widths, available fields, sorting orders

Data Forms - the layout and content of data forms can be changed within the confines of the program

Reports - additional reports can be produced

Data Views - additional views can be produced

Fields - new fields can be added and then used within the Grid Views and Data Forms
